Ruckus ZoneDirector

Introduction

The following guide takes you through the steps to configure your Ruckus ZoneDirector to work with the Captini Cloud platform. Please note this configuration guide is based on the following hardware and firmware version:

ZoneDirector Model: ZD1112

Firmware Version: 9.8.3.0. build 58

RADIUS (AAA) servers

The first step is to configure the radius servers on the ZoneDirector to allow user authentication. Depending on your location you will need to use one of the following Captini Radius server regions.

Navigate to:  Configure tab / AAA Servers / Authentication / Accounting Servers

As shown in the above screenshot you will need to add the following settings:

Region Specific Radius Servers

Radius Accounting

Next the radius accounting servers are required. This is a similar process to the above radius settings but with a different port number.

As show in the above screenshot use the following parameters:

Next we need to configure the hotspot settings. Please navigate to:  Configure / Hotspot Services / Hotspot Services

Region Specific Portal URL's

Walled Garden

For the captive portal services to work correctly you must configure the Walled Garden with the list of domains as shown in the screenshot below:

If you have SSID's already setup they will be listed on this screen. In our example above we have three SSID's. 

Important

Please note Captini, Facebook, and Twitter domains need to be entered twice with and without *. as shown above

WLAN Configuration

Next it is time to configure the WLAN settings. Navigate to:  Configure / WLANs

DHCP Services

Finally, the DHCP services are required to ensure the captive portal services work correctly and to ensure wireless end users are issued with an IP Address. Navigate to:  Configure / System / DHCP Server  andMake the following adjustments:

Testing

You are all set when you connect to the Captini SSID your browser should redirect and you will see the activation portal. Simply follow the onscreen instruction to map your ZoneDirector to a specific Captini Customer account. For more information on the activation process see the link below to the activation video.
