Unifi Cloud Key v2

IMPORTANT:
Please ensure your hardware is a version 2 cloud key running Unifi OS v4 or above.

Connect to your Unifi Cloud Key once loaded you will see a menu as shown below.

Next click on the Settings icon as shown below.

On the right of the screen either create a WiFi network or edit your existing WiFi network as shown below...

Once your WiFi network is created make sure Captive Portal is selected, save the changes and then click the blue Hotspot Portal link as shown below.

The portal age will then be displayed as shown below. Click on the lock icon on the top right.

The following screen will be shown. Tick the External Portal Server option at the bottom of the screen and then click the.

Now enter the Captini Portal Server IP address as shown below. Click save and then click the 3 icon at the top of the screen to access settings.

Finall add the configuration options as shown below amd save the settings..

The final step to enabling your cloud key with Captini to configure port forwarding on your Internet Gateway / Router. This important otherwise your guest will see the WiFi landing page but will not be able to authenticate on your Cloud Key. Captini will attempt to make an API request to the IP address of your Internet Router/Gateway on port 443 your router will then need to forward this request to the IP address of your cloud key on port 443. 

Port Forwarding

Most commonly, venues port forward their existing hardware to make their controller remotely accessible. This is a pretty easy thing to do and if you don't know how we recommend searching "How to port forward on *your router make/model*".

You should port forward 443 

A static Public IP is needed for Port-forwarding If this is not amiable please setup DDNS in case a static public IP is not available.

You will need to supply your static IP address or DDNS name along with an admin username and password to your cloud key so our API can make authentication requests.
